Shaping the Future of Cloud Computing and Certification Relevance
đ Greetings! This week weâre diving into some of the exciting innovations in cloud services that are reshaping the industry, from serverless computing to edge solutions, and sharing a few interesting links we think youâll find valuable. We also have an exciting update on the move to our web-based exam prep tool to supplement our native apps. Our users have wanted this for a long time, and we are making good progress in developing it.
We continue to get great feedback so please keep it coming. The reason we do this is because of this great community. Simply hit reply and send us an email. If you have passed any of the certification exams and have moved onto bigger and better things, we would love to hear more. One of our ideas we are throwing around is doing âcertification interviewsâ which would highlight those folks who used our apps to pass exams to further their careers. It is a easy friendly script to follow and weâll keep you totally anonymous. We feel there is tremendous value for the community when everyone hears the success stories of leveling up and learning more. Please reach out for further details.
Without further ado, letâs get into things!

âď¸ Cloud Evolutions
The cloud industry is evolving rapidly, with groundbreaking innovations that are transforming how businesses leverage the cloud. Among the most impactful of these innovations are serverless computing, edge computing, and advancements in cloud-native applications. Each of these areas represents not only an exciting leap forward in technology but also a significant opportunity for cloud professionals to enhance their skills and stay competitive.
Serverless Computing: Serverless has quickly become a core component of cloud strategy for many organizations. By allowing developers to focus solely on writing code without managing underlying infrastructure, serverless architectures make it easier and more cost-effective to build scalable applications. Major cloud providers like AWS (with Lambda), Azure (with Functions), and Google Cloud (with Cloud Functions) are heavily investing in expanding serverless capabilities, leading to increased demand for cloud professionals skilled in these technologies. We explored the importance of serverless computing in detail in our June 2024 article, which covers its game-changing impact on cloud development. Mastery of serverless technology can make professionals more marketable and effective in roles where rapid deployment and scalability are prioritized.

Edge Computing: As IoT (Internet of Things) devices proliferate, the need for low-latency data processing has skyrocketed, bringing edge computing to the forefront. Edge computing moves computation and storage closer to the data source, reducing latency and improving performance for time-sensitive applications like autonomous vehicles, smart cities, and industrial automation. AWS and Azure are both pioneering in this space with offerings like AWS IoT Greengrass and Azure IoT Edge, which allow companies to process data at the edge. Certification exams, especially those focused on IoT or architect roles, are increasingly emphasizing edge solutions. Cloud professionals who understand how to deploy and manage workloads at the edge are well-positioned for roles in IoT and other innovative tech fields.
The Learn AWS app can provide you a way to prepare for the exam with two of the architect roles - AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03) and the AWS Certified Solutions ARchitect Professional (SAP-C02).
Cloud-Native Applications: Cloud-native applications are designed from the ground up to leverage cloud infrastructure. This approach emphasizes the use of microservices, containerization (with technologies like Kubernetes and Docker), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices, enabling applications to be more resilient, scalable, and flexible. Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) are some examples of tools making cloud-native applications accessible to enterprises of all sizes. Certifications like the AWS Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) or Azure's certification paths for developers and DevOps engineers focus on these essential skills, validating expertise in building, deploying, and managing cloud-native solutions. As companies prioritize building applications that are optimized for the cloud, professionals with these skills are becoming indispensable.
đ Our Web-based Cloud Test Practice App
Here's a quick update on our cloud test prep tool⌠We're planning to offer a set of exam prep modules that include everything from our apps. Plus, you'll be able to track your progress and compare your results with others who have taken the same quizzes and practice exams. Youâll also be able to track all your content learning and lab practice work too. All from your personalized dashboards.
Let us know if you want any other features you feel would be helpful. Donât be shy as we have some buffer to add features into the initial release. If we canât get to them in, we certainly will keep them in our backlog for a later release.
We currently have over 4,000 unique questions (and counting) covering 16 certification titles. We also hope to have at least 4-5 GCP certification modules when we release the tool.
The user interface is shaping up to be very user friendly and also mobile friendly. The ability to access both Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform from one website is going to be awesome! đ
